In addition, ZF Marine GmbH is responsible for the design and testing of the new range of large, heavy duty gearboxes which are suitable for installation in commercial ships - tankers, dry cargo ships, chemical carriers etc. fitted with medium speed Diesel engines (2000 - 10,000 kW). This gear range is manufactured at the ZF Padova plant together with compatible controllable pitch propellers.
