HATLAPA is the only winch manufacturer who supplies winches with electric, low-pressure hydraulic, and high-pressure hydraulic drives. In 1994 the frequency inverter controlled electric drive for mooring winches was developed, and patented in 1998. This drive allows installation by the shipyards at considerably lower cost in comparison with high-pressure hydraulic drive or pole-changing electric motors. Power electronics allow steplessly variable speed control of a standard asynchronous motor, also during mooring operation.
Owners of cruise liners specify automatic roller chain stoppers make HATLAPA, as ship's safety is increased considerable, as quick reaction is possible. Therefore, these stoppers are recommended for tankers also, retro-fittings on operating vessels is no problem.

HATLAPA is also a system supplier, i.e. many shipyards buy modules to save installation costs. The whole unit is supplied completely piped and wired, already tested, approved and ready for commissioning. Both air and water-cooled compressors can be supplied in modular design. More than 20 types of air and water-cooled compressors cover all capacity ranges, some types being carried in stock. The compressors are available with type approvals and correspond to the rules of all well-known classification societies for the prescribed ambient temperatures. HATLAPA delivers compressors for starting air, service air and control air.
For ships and various industrial applications (also for oil-free compressed air acc. to ISO 8573/1); water-cooled 25 to 600 m?/h at 7 to 30 bar, air-cooled 10 to 411 m?/h at 7 to 40 bar, driven by electric motor or Diesel engine; complete compressed-air stations.

HATLAPA is the only West European manufacturer who has been supplying 4-cylinder ram-type steering gears up to 45° rudder angle for 30 years. HATLAPA steering gears fulfill all classification and security regulations.
The present type range consists of:
- 4-cylinder, ram-type steering gears with rudder stock diameters from 160 mm to 1,000 mm for rudder angles 35° up to 45° and design torques up to 10,000 kNm. The steering gears are of compact design, completely piped with the pump sets, and with integrated rudder carrier.
- The automatic isolation system SAFEMATIC can be installed on all 4-ram-steering gear types. A wide range of accessories is available, such as contactor cabinets for motors and alarm equipment as well as lubricating pumps, and rudder angle indicators.
- Vane-type steering gears for rudder angles up to 65° and up to 2,000 kNm design torque, with fully integrated rudder carrier and guide bearings, for rudder stock diameters 175-520 mm depending on rudder angle.
- Becker-type steering gears with twin ram and dual power pack for rudder angles up to 60° and up to 700 kNm design torque
- 4-cylinder ram-type steering gears up to 10,000 kNm, electro-hydraulic; twin-rudder steering gears up to 2 x 240 kNm; 2-cylinder ram-type steering gears up to 700 kNm; vane-type steering gears up to 2000 kNm; rudder carriers.
