New developments in the MULTISTEER and MULTITRAC axle series improve productivity and handling. OPTISTEER, the innovative steering-system kinematics for vehicles with 4-wheel steering, together with efficiency-optimized service brake systems, cylindrical roller bearings in the epicyclic gear train and open differentials with hydraulically operated locking differential are designed to improve efficiency. The low-speed hydraulic motor and secondary planetary gearbox of the PLM 7 and PLM 9 models make up a compact and powerfull unit. The ZF has come up with the P-Series as an alternative to the PLM-Series. The basic model of the P-Series comprises a two-stage planetary gearbox, driven by an external hydraulic motor using a standardized SAE profile. With the HL transmissions ZF is opening up higher versatility and significatly increased power ranges to modern wheel excavators. The generation comprises three power classes wich are designed for the same installation.
The transmissions are available in two variants of transmission ratios of the new generations of axles. Optimum adaption, greater gear-shift spacing for the transmission ratios and still better efficiency enhance the driving performance of mobile construction machines. The transmission can be mounted separately on the chassis as well as directly on the ZF axle.

Road rollers are primarily used for road construction and large-scale building projects. Many years of experience from large series lay the fondationstone for the development in the area of our compactor roller axles. Internal spring-loaded brakes, which are released by the service pressure of the hydraulic system, reflect an ideal system solution. A consistently applied compact modular design offers excellent installation possibilities. This compactor roller axle benefits in particular with respect to service life and flexibility by the use of tried and tested components from other axle series. Commercial vehicle weight can range from one extreme to the other between fully laden and unloaded. Apart from the load capacity, however, the vehicles are very similar. This makes them perfect for bigger construction vehicles. In addition, with the variety of available attachments, they are ideally suited for a wide range of applications: in landscaping, recycling, agriculture, and as material and equipment carriers in general construction operations.
The driveline concept for compact loaders is uncompromising. The hydrostatic transmission is installed next to the rear axle.

These transmissions are used for construction machinery up to a vehicle weight of 9.5 tons. Itallows vehicle speeds up to approx. 42 km/h and enables efficient working even when changing locations.Thanks to its design a reduction of fuel consumption can be achieved. Furthermore it allows a higher driving speed. This increases productivity, protects the environment and reduces operating costs. 1 or 2 crankshaft radial piston motors are an integral part of the drive unit. In addition to the know requirements for more compact drive systems with reduce noise level there is an ever increasing demand for a reduction of fuel consumption. at the same time, however, vehicle speed should be increased.
